Cast Iron features can be zinc flame sprayed prior to paint applications to provide longevity in harsh environments.
Featured Restoration Projects
St Marys School, Hinckley
We undertook a full off site restoration to return the windows at St. Marys School, Hinckley to their original condition. This included carefully stripping the old paint, removing corrosion, repairing any structural damage to the ironwork and reglazing the windows to restore both their functionality and aesthetic integrity.

Ford Castle is a Grade I listed building situated in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland originally built around 1278. We were engaged in the restoration of many of Ford Castle castle’s original iron framed, leaded windows. A great number of the windows were found to be corroded so we carefully moved them to our workshops for full restoration.

This ornate cast iron fountain was installed in 1882 and gifted by Lord Provost Hugh Macpherson, a supporter of local welfare and industry. It is a Category C listed structure. Once common across the UK, public drinking fountains provided clean water to the public before indoor plumbing. Today only 18 listed fountains remain in Scotland, with only four predating this example. Believed to be made by a prominent Scottish foundry (though no maker’s mark was found), the fountain was heavily vandalised. The upper bowl and figurine had broken off, damaging the base and resulting in the loss of the entire upper section.

Situated in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, opened in 1900 as a 96-metre structure before being extended to 227 metres in 1903. Over the years, the pier had a turbulent history, reflecting both its popularity and challenges with maintenance and ownership. Despite its once prominent role as a seaside attraction, it gradually deteriorated and was ultimately closed to the public in 2008 due to safety concerns.
